Sweeping the 5 Star Reviews!

This book is excellent. Could not put it down. Being a true living story made it that much more interesting. I would recommend this book to those that are in a abusive relationship or those who know someone that is. The book really puts it in prospective on how someone can get caught up in a bad relationship. A must read.

Raw and engaging, this memoir addresses the uncomfortable truth of domestic violence. A unique and powerful portrayal of the insidiousness of abuse, these letters offer a glimpse into an entanglement of loyalty and fear. The honesty of this book is a true gift to both survivors and concerned loved ones: a validation of emotion and a message of hope. I was truly moved by these letters and grateful for the author’s willingness to share her story. Beautifully crafted. Thank you.

Falling in love with Joe was the most dangerous thing Bekka could have done. It began one innocent evening in late summer, while her children slept. Glass of wine in hand, a storm breeze brewing, Bekka checked into a dating site and began a conversation with a man who would change everything.

Joe said all the right things. Joe did all the right things. The center of every circle, adored by everyone, Joe was safe. Bekka never expected the whirlwind romance, or the secret marriage to lead where it did. In a matter of months, Bekka wakes up trapped, far from home, penniless, jobless and sleeping with a monster named Joe.

Joe’s love was all encompassing, and she basked in it. Until the day Bekka stumbled upon something that made her question everything. As suspicion takes hold, Bekka wrestles her sanity and begins to doubt both her judgment and Joe’s intentions. He wasn’t evil, couldn’t be. Not Joe.

Bekka sets out to uncover the man behind the luring exterior and why he targeted her. Cunning, manipulative, Joe, is becoming more dangerous and abusive by the day. Bekka is terrified. Her life lies in the balance, and the game of cat and mouse must come to an end – if she can survive long enough to end it.
